Build product pages that answer before customers ask

A product page brings the buying decision into focus. Good presentation matters, but useful information is what helps visitors decide whether a product is right for them.

Show what the customer receives

Choose images that explain the product rather than simply decorate the page. For digital products, show meaningful screens, included layouts, or examples of the editing experience. For physical products, include relevant angles and details.

Keep image treatments consistent across the catalog. Similar framing and aspect ratios make products easier to compare, while descriptive alternative text explains important visual information.

Put the important facts together

Keep the product name, price, purchase action, and essential choices near one another. If there is a sale, make the original and current prices easy to distinguish. Explain what affects the price when customers must select a variation or license.

For a theme, template, or plugin, clearly list requirements, compatibility, included files, and the scope of support. Do not leave customers to infer these details from the demo.

Separate previewing from buying

A live demo helps people explore the experience. A details link helps them investigate the product. An add-to-cart action starts a purchase. Use distinct labels or accessible icon descriptions so these actions are easy to tell apart.

Make uncertainty easy to resolve

Add a concise question-and-answer section for recurring concerns. Explain the relevant delivery, refund, license, or installation information in plain language, and provide a way to ask a question when more context is needed.

Before publishing, walk through the page on a phone and follow the purchase route yourself. Check that the selected product, price, and options remain clear at every step.
